Raul Moya-Mula resides and works in London, where he pursues his passion as a visual artist. His primary medium is photography, with a strong emphasis on digital techniques but also sometimes he applies other materials such as oils, collage, etc... on top of the images creating mix media photographs.
Raul’s artistic focus lies in delving into the diverse states of the human mind, with a specific emphasis on mental health concerns, loss, and memory. He aims to visually represent the side effects of conditions such as anxiety, depression, panic attacks, gender and identity and loss. By doing so, he seeks to initiate a dialogue that helps to break the stigma associated with mental health problems, and identity encouraging open conversations and understanding.
After obtaining his B.A. (Hons) in Photography from the University of the Arts London in 2008, Raul has established a notable presence in the art scene. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions throughout London and internationally, showcasing his unique approach and artistic vision. Additionally, one of his significant pieces, titled “Emptiness,” was published in the prestigious British Journal of Photography, further solidifying his reputation in the field. And he was exhibiting recently at the Venice Biennial 2024 with a pice called: Nostalgia. And he has been exhibiting at London Art Fair 2026 represented by Siger Gallery, London.
Currently, Raul is furthering his education by studying for a BA in History of Art at Goldsmiths University in London, which undoubtedly enhances his understanding and appreciation of art history, influencing his creative process.
